Friends of the Newmarket Public Library

Who We Are

A group of people who value libraries - especially our own Newmarket Public Library - and want to lend our support to this valuable community asset.  We enjoy working cooperatively with our library to develop, maintain, and enhance facilities, resources and services to the public.  And with more Friends, more can be accomplished!  Membership is open to anyone in the community as well as non-residents who use the NPL.

What We Do

  • Support and volunteer for NPL programs
  • Fundraise
  • Provide materials not covered by the library budget such as museum passes, etc.
  • Seek and encourage support for the library from the community
  • Hold a variety of special public events:  arts, informational, community-building, etc.
  • Publicize the importance to Newmarket of having a vital public library

New Members Welcome!

Please Join Us!
  • Your membership dues help the Friends to support the Newmarket Public Library in these ways and more.
  • For annual dues of $10, you can become a Supporting Friend, help the Friends provide some materials and services, support our fundraising effort with your dollars, and know that you are also welcome to donate your time to library projects - or not.
  • For annual dues of $25, you are welcome to become a working member of the Friends' Governing Board - come to monthly meetings, help plan events, and volunteer in whatever ways you feel would most help the library.
  • The Friends of the Newmarket Public Library meet on the third Thursday of every month at 6pm in the library community meeting room.
