MCN’s Ultimate Guide to Virtual Museum Resources, E-Learning, and Online Collections The nonprofit MCN (Museum Computer Network) has compiled a huge list of cultural collection portals, virtual tours, online exhibits, e-learning, online collections, and digital archives and libraries provided by museum in the US and around the world. Every resource on the guide is free to access. Google Arts & Culture Google Arts & Culture is an enormous hub for education, activities, and more, where you can digitally explore the collections of museums around the world. Boston Children's Museum The Boston Children's Museum's Play and Learning Resources portal offers many educational resources. Some highlights include Beyond the Chalkboard, a collection of afterschool activities, and the Japanese House website, where you can virtually tour the 100-year-old house. Children's Museum of New Hampshire The Children's Museum in Dover is offering free online content while their doors are closed. Crafts and activities are available on the museum's blog. Their YouTube page has many useful videos. The museum's online resources page also has curriculums and STEM videos. Currier Museum of Art The Currier is offering family-friendly art activities with their Currier From Home resource. Frank Lloyd Wright Virtual Home Tours The Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy, in partnership with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and Unity Temple Restoration Foundation, announced that every Thursday, a new home tour will be presented. Museum of Science in Boston The museum has introduced MOS at Home, where you can participate in live science and STEM webinars, listen to podcasts, engage in STEM activities, watch town hall videos, and enjoy the museum's collection online. Portland Museum of Art The PMA's collection of 18,000+ art objects is available to view online. Also available for free is PMA Magazine with features, news, announcements, and more. Seacoast Science Center The Seacoast Science Center in Rye has set up Your Learning Connection, offering weekly lessons and activities about the ocean and nature, with a focus on STEM. Strawbery Banke Museum The Portsmouth staple offers many online cultural and historical resources through its virtual tours and online learning. Woodman Museum The Woodman in Dover is creating new online content about natural science, history, and art. The Federal Library Depository Program has guides to various collections of U.S. government documents. The basic collection is a good place to start. If you have questions, ask a specially trained Government Information Online Librarian. You can also access reliable COVID-19 resources here. NASA - ebooks, podcasts and more NASA has an entire library of free ebooks and podcasts, as well as many other resources. New Hampshire Historical Society The society's website has an interactive timeline and access to the collections of partnered NH institutions. New Hampshire Law Library NH's public law library is available to assist in legal research. SciStarter - become a citizen scientist SciStarter is a project hub where you can find and participate in ongoing scientific projects and events. Ancestry.com's collection of nearly 500 million digital records and images from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration is currently available to access for free, after signing up for an account.
